In eight starts at home he is 1-3 with a 3.77 ERA and six home runs allowed over 43.0 innings. Greinke had staggering home/road splits last season and that’s the case again this year. The Rays are great at home, much better than on the road and that’s already bad news for the Royals in the Trop tonight and this whole weekend, but what’s worse is that their starting pitcher is much worse on the road too. The Rays are big favorites with the better Zach on the mound in this one. Greinke is 1-7 in his 15 starts this year with a 4.81 ERA for the Royals while Eflin is 8-3 with a 3.26 ERA. It’s Game 2 of four and the Rays need to make sure they take care of business in as many of these matchups as possible after splitting a four-gamer with Oakland earlier this month. The loser might have to change the final letter of their name.
For the second game between the last place Kansas City Royals and the first place Tampa Bay Rays the pitching matchup will feature Zack Greinke and Zach Eflin.
